Based in countryside just outside Guildford, Surrey, Greyfriars is a centre of excellence in canine and feline rehabilitation.

Greyfriars provides a range of services including physiotherapy, functional rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and short or long term inpatient care for dogs and cats. Our experienced and knowledgeable team is dedicated to the welfare of animals. We liaise closely with referring veterinary surgeons and physiotherapists, so that treatment programs can be tailored to suit each dog or cats' specific needs and believe in supporting both our patients and their owners. We understand how stressful and upsetting it can be to have an injured or disabled dog and will do everything we can to assist you.

Ben learns to walk again

Whilst out on a walk, Ben, a rescue Border Collie aged 10-12 years, collapsed and was left with loss of the sensation and motor function of his left hind limb. An MRI scan showed that Ben had suffered a spinal embolism around T12-T13 and his condition wasn’t helped by the fact that he has severe hip dysplasia. Ben’s chances of recovery were assessed as poor and he was still off his feet after a month when his owners contacted Greyfriars to see if we could help. Ben came into us as an inpatient on 20th June 2008. Click here to read Ben's story.

Greyfriars opened in 2001 and back then we were considered pioneering in our approach to hydrotherapy and rehabilitation. Now, thanks to increasing medical interest, studies and research, the veterinary profession is more aware of the benefits of early rehabilitation and preventative or management programs. We run training courses for veterinary and hydrotherapy professionals - helping to raise standards in this exciting and developing field.

Greyfriars has regularly featured in television programs, professional journals, magazine and newpaper articles - please visit our news and media section for more information.
